Deputy PM orders to withdraw warning on rolling bearings on railcars

MOSCOW, Nov 13 (PRIME) -- Russian Deputy Prime Minister Maxim Akimov ordered on Wednesday to withdraw a Federal Service for Transport Oversight’s warning on rolling railcar bearings with ending working lifespan within 24 hours.

The council of the railway transport of the CIS states earlier suggested a switch of all Russian cargo rail cars from rolling bearings to tapered roller bearings, and the Transport Ministry issued the order. Several Russian railway operators opposed the idea and sent an open letter to the authorities asking them to cancel the order and saying that the companies may even re-register in other countries in order to avoid compliance with the order.

The Federal Service for Transport Oversight then issued a warning to Russian Railways to sort out the issue of rolling railcar bearings with ending working lifespan.
